The city of Portland is running its first-ever Portland Staycation campaign, and I had the honor to build out a super fun brand with tons of pieces to go along with it. From a full-site takeover on KOIN.com mixing big, welcoming headlines with cheeky, Portland-specific one-liners (yes, even backyard chicken jokes) to Jumbotron banners to coasters placed in local bars, it is popping up all over the city. I aimed to channel the city’s quirky personality by combining a fun, mid-century design with a vintage postcard aesthetic—creating pieces that felt less like ads and more like a natural part of Portland’s ongoing conversation.
